Construction: Toronto: Yonge and Spring Garden

There is some interesting construction going on at Yonge St & Spring Garden Ave in Toronto, ON, Canada. Interesting site plans and explanations of the construction can be found here: https://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis/2015/ny/bgrd/backgroundfile-73775.pdf

Toronto is a densely populated city with many condos and cranes. All non-essential construction projects will be halted to help slow the spread of Coronavirus COVID-19. The list of exceptions under this category, however, is long and complicated. Allowed projects are "infrastructure projects such as new hospitals, roads and bridges" and "residential construction that is near completion." The rules also allow many of the condo projects and residential home renovations that have already started.

Ontario stops non-critical industrial construction to fight Coronavirus Covid-19

The Ontario government is shutting down most construction work in the province for the next 2 weeks. All industrial construction, except critical projects, will be stopped to help fight the spread of Coronavirus COVID-19.

Toronto has very many construction sites. Some complain that certain roads become closed due to construction. Your GPS might think those roads are open. Residential carpentry and outside construction stops during rain and snow storms. A lot of thinking goes into the designs of houses. The houses serve their purpose.

Toronto City Statistics: Income and Crime Rate

Toronto Police say that all major crime in the city has actually declined since Monday, March 16, 2020. There was a drop in almost every major crime category, including assaults, robbery, car thefts, and break-and-enters. The only major crime statistic that hasn't fallen is Toronto's homicide rate.

Here are some interesting Toronto city statistics from past years about population, income levels and crime.

Toronto Restaurants use "Uber Eats" amid Coronavirus Covid-19 Lockdowns

Toronto restaurants are facing risks of bankruptcy amid the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. Many restaurants across the city are struggling to stay operational. 1 in 10 Toronto restaurants now say that they are closed permanently forever. Here are some places in Toronto that use Uber Eats for food delivery.

Construction: Toronto: Bathurst and Bloor

In Toronto at Bathurst and Bloor, there is construction for what looks like will be a large high-rise building. The concrete forming looks interesting here. Many different materials are laid out to be assembled. The High Rise Construction Sector consists of various trades all working on one building. One of the interesting training programs is the LiUNA Local 183 Training Centre's High Rise Forming Program.

Construction: Toronto: hwy 27 and hwy 7

In Toronto at highway 27 and highway 7, there is construction of concrete forming. Concrete stripping is done when the forms are removed and the concrete has hardened. Selecting the proper type of concrete forms is certainly important to ensure the success of any concrete project.
